The four stages of truth

"Many people choose to live in ignorance. They have no interest in exploring new topics, researching or asking questions. Then they complain about their situation. An ignorant populace is easy to control. They don’t ask questions, they don’t look behind the curtain. They just accept what they are told. Due to Authoritarianism, people have been programmed to be obedient and ignorant slaves. But if we don’t have sufficient knowledge, we won’t know how to properly apply our energy to accomplish things sufficiently, and we will likely make many poor decisions that cause problems. I am not suggesting that everyone should go to college, and get a Ph.D. On the contrary, state schools are a big part of the problem. What I am speaking of is having enough knowledge to glide through life, rather than to stumble through, causing problems and breaking things. So here we are in the information age, and many people choose to remain in ignorance. Isn’t it ironic? We have tremendous knowledge at our fingertips, and we have been dumbed down, hypnotized, to not be interested in it. Instead we’re easily distracted by a never ending stream of trivia. In the past, when knowledge was scarce, people were hungry for it. Now that it is so easily available, no one appreciates it. Yes, it is ironic isn’t it?"

-------------------------

'Much of the people in the western world are ostensibly living unconsciously, locked inside their own minds, too busy to break free of social norms and societal pressures. In fact, when presented with a new or different idea to a pre-existing belief, the majority will reject the idea outright while only a minority will be open to the possibility of the inherent truth. It is because of this inability of many individuals to take in new knowledge that much of the present problems of the world have recently been exacerbated. When the world is ready for independent thought and knowledge, the revolution will have arrived and a flow of positive changes will be unstoppable. It would appear to be an indelible human trait that the truth about nearly all issues goes through four distinct phases known colloquially as "the four stages of truth". During the first stage, the issue goes unrecognised and is therefore ignored. The second stage is one of ridicule, as in "that's ridiculous". The third stage is characterised by a period of vehement denial. Finally, the fourth stage witnesses the truth being recognised as "self evident". The reason why truth goes through these four stages is that humans in general are very reluctant to give up their beliefs as to the nature of reality because they have invested a lifetime of expense and effort in arriving at those beliefs. Acknowledging that their perception of reality may no longer be applicable in the light of new evidence usually presents humans with the uncomfortable choice of dispensing with a paradigm that they have become used to - and which has probably worked for them quite satisfactorily to date - in favour of something new. Few people pursue such a course of action as it usually results in considerable personal discomfort associated with a lack of supporting structures surrounding new ideas and a fear of the unknown, not to mention the vociferous ridicule they can expect from their contemporaries towards anything new. This situation is exacerbated by the fact that those who question society's prevailing orthodoxy are by definition dissenters who, by "rocking the boat", tend to threaten the very lifestyle, comfort and income of those around them who hold to the prevailing orthodox position. It is for this reason why dissenters have been relentlessly pursued and persecuted throughout history by their contemporaries. Looking back historically at how cigarettes were recommended by doctors, anyone who initially said that cigarettes caused health issues was summarily laughed at. Still, as more and more knowledge was evinced, the masses moved to only reject this information as being totally incorrect without accepting the truth of it. But, over time the laughable idea that smoking could cause serious health problems including death, became self-evident. The same truths are slowly becoming self-evident in regards to the dangers and greed behind pharmaceuticals and the cancer industry. The only tactic Big Pharma and Big Biotechna can possibly employ is to subvert or block truthful knowledge in order for the majority of society to be inundated with deleterious and misinformed information, keeping the status quo while the masses remained incognizant prisoners of poor choices and disinformation. This can only be seen as a last-ditch effort by these desperate and soon-to-be defunct companies to keep people fearful, controlled and chronically ill. But, as more and more people begin to slowly awaken, the grip of the corporate juggernauts begins to loosen as individuals reclaim back their well-being and happiness. In terms of the efficacy of natural health, society has gradually been shifting from the violent opposition stage to the self-evident stage. A conscious awakening is steadily occurring in many individuals as they begin to question the food they are eating, how they are living their lives and what true health entails. These shifts are only going to precipitously increase as the world moves toward mindful living & conscious thinking. As someone once said,

"It does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen to set brush fires in people's minds".
